Established in 1823, Birkbeck is part of the prestigious University of London and has been awarded globally recognized University of London qualifications, a mark of quality and excellence. It is also one of the world's leading research universities, where teaching is shaped by the latest cutting-edge research.
Birkbeck offers a unique combination of evening study and a matchless central London location, right in the geographic and academic centre of the city, giving students the exceptional opportunities. The students can build their own university experience, with as little or as much support as they need. It offers a famously friendly, welcoming environment, offering academic support and pastoral guidance, whenever they need it. Birkbeck's five schools cover a wide range of academic disciplines and each provide a stimulating, dynamic environment for learning and research
The main campus in Bloomsbury, central London, is a lively student-centred area that is home to several other universities and colleges of the University of London, including University College London (UCL) and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Most of it's courses are taught on it's main Bloomsbury campus, but it also offers programmes in Stratford, east London. Birkbeck has been running courses in Stratford for 10 years. Both the campuses offer all the facilities students need and are well-served by public transport, making it easy to get to and from college.
