Other eligibility requirements

Applicants must have a disability that significantly impairs ability to study, and they must submit evidence regarding the degree of that impairment.

Applicants must be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a programme for a master’s degree at the University.  

Tenure: The scholarship is tenable for the period necessary to complete up to 240 points of enrolment.
Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: The scholarship is tenable by full-time and part-time students enrolled in a programme for a master’s degree at the University. Applicants may be either intending to enrol in a programme for a master’s degree at the University or already enrolled in such a programme.
 

Selection basis

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence
  • Financial need/hardship

Selection criteria

In making the recommendation, the selection committee gives equal consideration to: a. academic achievement; and b. the degree of severity of the disability and the extent to which it impairs the applicant's ability to carry out the course of study. Preference is given to those working towards their first master’s degree.

If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit no scholarship is awarded.
