Criteria

To be considered for this award, the candidate must:
• Be enrolled as a full-time student at MacEwan as of the stated application date
• Be listed on the official roster of a Griffin Athletic Team for the given academic year
• Have a minimum term GPA of 2.0 to be considered for these awards
• Meet the requirements outlined by the Canada West Universities Athletic Association U Sport (formerly CIS) within the policies and procedure section of the by-laws. (Policy 50 Financial Awards)

• Meet the requirements outlined by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association and the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Operating Code as it pertains to financial assistance to athletes.

• Be nominated by his/her coach of the respective sport (Men's Soccer).

Disbursement Criteria

  • Must be enrolled full-time.
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Must be listed on the official roster of a Griffin Athletic Team (Men's Soccer) for the given academic year.

  • Academic excellence
  • Sports excellence

Selection criteria

Griffin Athlete Award recipients shall be selected following the conclusion of the fall term academic course add drop date annually. The Director of Athletics or designate will recommend candidates and be ratified by the Awards Selection Committee.

Recipients will be notified via e-mail. Committee selections are final, appeals will not be considered.

Typically given out in the Fall term.
