A bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics with an undergraduate overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 undergraduate units attempted.
Completion of all prerequisite for 500/600 level courses prior to admission. The pre-reqs include these four courses: NUTR 335: Nutrition Assessment, NUTR 436B: Advanced Nutrition, NUTR 461: Community Nutrition, and an upper division (300/400 level) stats course.*
Demonstration of writing proficiency. Two options are offered: submission of a writing sample OR a minimum score of 4 on the Analytical Writing section of the GRE.
A passing score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL or IELTS) if the applicant's native language is not English and preparatory education was principally in a language other than English.

The Master of Science in Nutritional Science program offers interdisciplinary study in the field of nutrition that allows students to develop particular competencies related to their career aspirations.<br><br>The mission of the Master of Science in Nutritional Science Program is to provide a specialized course of advanced nutrition study that integrates graduate education and research to develop competent professionals prepared to meet the nutrition-related needs of the state of California, the nation, and the world.<br><br>The program offers four emphases: Nutritional Science, Latino Health and Nutrition, Food Science, and Dietetic Internship, and has a variety of elective courses to meet student needs (with courses in nutrition for exercise and performance, endocrinology, molecular genetics, nutrition and aging, using media to promote nutrition, etc.).
