UIndy's philosophy program lets you explore the big topics with others as curious as you are. You'll get to think through questions about meaning and morality, explore the history of philosophy, and examine the role of ethics in modern society. And as an upper-level student, you can even go beyond the questions and begin developing solutions to real-world problems. In other words, you can go from ''why'' to ''how'' and really make a difference. Advantages - Faculty are actively involved in the Indiana Philosophical Association and have been published in a variety of publications on a diverse range of topics Small class sizes encourage meaningful relationships between faculty and students Upperclassmen are able to work with professors to create customized, independent study courses to help them explore their interests Special topics courses are regularly tailored to student interests Students gain skills in civil discourse, rational thinking, research, and communication On average, students get higher scores on graduate school entrance exams than other humanities majors.
