国际学生入学条件
The assessment of an applicant's likelihood of success can be carried out in a variety of ways. Students will be expected to hold a B.Sc. or B. Eng. degree, or equivalent, with a strong computational orientation. At the time of application, the student is expected to provide evidence (for example, transcripts of completed courses) of his or her knowledge of a modern computer language such as Fortran, and/or C and/or C++, and/or Matlab, and/or Python. Evidence of knowledge of differential equations, and/or linear algebra and/or computer graphics would be an asset. Students with an inadequate background may be encouraged to take certain undergraduate courses. The successful completion of an Honours. B.Sc. or B. Eng. degree which included a number of computer science courses is typical of a successful applicant.
Bachelor's degree (minimum second class honours) with a strong computational orientation, including a number of Computer Science courses, applicants are expected to demonstrate background in the field (e.g., undergraduate BSc thesis, work experience which involved computing in a scientific environment, etc.)
Students who have completed secondary schooling, an undergraduate program, or a graduate program at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English will normally not require an English proficiency test. If the institution is located outside of Canada and/or the language of instruction is not clearly indicated on the official transcript, applicants are advised to provide a letter from their university stating the language of instruction.
TOEFL - Paper-based score of 550 or higher, or Internet-based with a score of 80 or higher.
IELTS - An average band score of 6.5 or higher on the academic test.
Official transcript(s) (must be submitted by post mail or courier)
Two (2) letters of appraisal

Memorial University's MSc program in Scientific Computing was one of the first in North America, and remains the only such program in Atlantic Canada. Both MSc and PhD programs are now being offered in Scientific Computing. These programs train students in advanced computational techniques and in the application of these techniques to at least one scientific area, such as Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Physics, or Physical Oceanography. Students can expect to gain knowledge and experience in: (1) state-of-the-art numerical methods, (2) high performance computer architectures, (3) use of software development tools for parallel and vector computers, (4) graphics, visualization, and multimedia tools, and (5) acquisition, processing, and analysis of large experimental data sets. The MSc and PhD Scientific Computing programs are interdisciplinary, enriched by the expertise of faculty members in a range of academic units. Researchers in external organizations contribute by co-supervising students, providing placements for co-op students, providing computing resources, and teaching some courses. The program has close links with ACEnet, the Atlantic Canada Excellence network of high performance computers on which much of our computational work is carried out.
