Students can work towards a Minor, a Major or a four-year Honours Specialization in Economics, as well as a Major in Finance – a degree unique to King's. Those who choose to complete an Honours Specialization in Economics typically proceed to graduate school, and with significant success.<br><br>In the first year of studies, economics and finance students receive a broad liberal arts education that provides a foundation for future studies. Second year provides a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of economic and statistical theory, as well as the opportunity to explore a number of options. Third and fourth year students explore a more specialized curriculum designed to bring students closer to the leading edge of current understanding in economics, finance, or financial economics. Many students take advantage of a unique opportunity provided by our Economics program to complete an undergraduate thesis based on an original research project guided by a faculty member. Students also have the option of pursuing internships, and the opportunity to study-abroad.
