The coursework specialisations require a cognate undergraduate degree, may require higher academic requirements for entry or may specify how applicants may otherwise demonstrate their equivalence to the academic entry requirements with the approval of the Board of Graduate Research.
Entry in to the Research specialisation will require applicants to demonstrate equivalence of the advanced knowledge and research training that is required for completion of a research thesis only.
The minimum academic requirement for transfer to Master of Arts from a Bachelor (Honours) is a weighted average mark of 65 or above in the final year of that course.
IELTS Overall 6.5, no band less than 6.0
TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall score of 79 with 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing

The Masters by research degree requires you to deepen your knowledge of your discipline area and develop advanced skills in the conduct of independent and sustained research. As a Masters by research candidate, you will undertake a supervised research project that culminates in the submission of a creative output (exhibition) and a thesis for examination.<br>Upon completion of your candidature you must demonstrate through your creative output and thesis that you have acquired an advanced and integrated understanding of a complex body of knowledge in one or more disciplines.<br><br>Graduates of the Master of Visual Arts by research will be prepared for a career in academic research, higher education, industry, and the community sectors. Completion of this degree can also provide you with opportunities for further study in a more specialised field, or as a pathway into a PhD.
